Iconic models such as Carmen Kass, Karolina Kurkova and Angela Lindvall walked the runway at Michael Kors’ Fall 2011 collection, celebrating his 30th anniversary in fashion.

Dick Page for Shiseido created a clean, minimal makeup look and hair was simple and effortless- loose twists with hair parted in the middle and pieces intentionally sticking out.

Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta Jones attended the Michael Kors Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week yesterday.
We’re so happy Michael seems to be feeling well after his recent battle with throat cancer. The actor previously underwent intense radiation and chemotherapy to eliminate a tumor in his throat. Looking healthy!

At Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2011 show, make-up artist Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics used basic make-up elements to create a classic, flawless face. The eyes were lined with a winged effect at the top lid with black eyeliner, eyebrows were defined and cheeks were soft and rosy. A wine-color lip stain pulled the look together. Orlando Pita for Moroccanoil styled the hair into a modern, sleek reverse bun with a deep side part. Manicurist Wanda Ruiz for CND added a final touch of glamour using a deep burgundy shade on the models’ nails.

The Betsey Johnson Fall 2011 show featured bold and unforgettably creative makeup and hair looks. Charlotte Willer for Maybelline New York used vibrant blue and gold shadows to colorblock the eyes and bold red on the lips. Peter Gray for Redken used a 1920’s black bob wig on the models, strategically spray-painted with gold and a black lace pattern. Nonie Creme for Butter LONDON used a metallic olive color on the nails, adding a grunge element to the look. Take a look at the pics below.

Pretty chignons took center stage at the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Fall/Winter 2011 Presentation at The Plaza Hotel on February 14th.

Thomas Dunkin and the Sebastian Professional hair team were on hand backstage styling playful and pretty chignons to complement the designer’s fall ’11 collection. The collection, along with the hair, evokes timeless elegance and unabashed glamour, while speaking to the girl who’s flawlessly fun and full of life. Here’s how to get the look:
1.) To start, dampen the hair with water and generously apply a volume building spray. Blow the hair out with just your fingers, keeping any natural texture in the hair and making sure the hair has plenty of volume. (Try: Sebastian Volupt Spray.)
2.) Once the hair is completely dry, leave a soft parting where the hair falls into a break naturally. From here, spritz all over with a flexible hairspray for control and gently pull back the hair to either the center or to either side. (Try: Sebastian Shine Define Hairspray)
3.) Twist very small, subtle sections on the sides and pull hair back into a large chignon and allow what pieces pop out to remain loose. Secure with a natural-colored hair band, matte bobby pins and fine pins. Pull the chignon into a pretty shape and secure with a few more pins.
4.) Finally, spritz the hair with serum or shimmer spray for a soft natural hold and beautiful shine. (Try: Sebastian Trilliant Thermal Protection and Shimmer Complex)

Last week, I was lucky enough to venture backstage at the Wildfox Fall 2011 Preview, where Urban Decay makeup artists glammed up leggy models! Wildfox had a very bohemian 60s/70s theme going, and Urban Decay had the makeup to match!

Check out my interview with the cosmetic company’s lead makeup artist below. She fills us in on her inspiration for the show, her favorite Spring trends and how to clean up dark shadow dribble. (The video clip is a teensy blurry. My apologies! I’m still learning how to use my FlipCam, and realized after-the-fact that my autofocus was off!)
