Get The Look: Jennifer Lopez and L’Oreal Paris

Adriana M. Barraza/ WENN.com

HAIR:

Celebrity Hair Stylist: Lorenzo Martin

Inspirational Quote: “The look I created for Jennifer was inspired by the 60′s. I wanted a gorgeous hairstyle that defined the graceful refined sophistication of that time to complement Jennifer’s beautiful dress.”

Step by Step How-To:

  • First, Lorenzo sprayed L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray at the roots of Jennifer’s clean, damp hair to add extra volume before blow-drying it with a round medium-sized boar bristle brush.
  • After Jennifer’s hair was completely dry, Lorenzo distributed a dime-sized amount of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Strong Hold Defining Gel evenly throughout her hair.
  • Next, he pulled her hair into a high ponytail, securing it with a metal-free elastic rubber band.
  • From there, Lorenzo split the ponytail into four different sections and teased each one. Once all four pieces were teased, he sprayed her hair with  L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray.
  •  Next, Lorenzo took one of the four sections and looped the piece into the ponytail, securing it into place with bobby pins. He followed this step with the three other sections of hair – pinning each one in different directions (front, back and side to side) to create a complete bun.
  • To ensure there were no loose hairs or flyways and to maintain a sleek look, he added a bit of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth & Shine Serum.
  • Lastly, to finish off this effortless yet elegant style, he used L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray lightly around all the hair.

Products Used:

  •  L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray ($6.99)
  •  L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Strong Hold Defining Gel ($6.99)
  • L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth & Shine Serum ($6.99)
  • L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray ($14.99)

MAKEUP

Celebrity Makeup Artist: Mary Phillips

Step by Step How-To:

  • FACE – First, Mary highlighted Jennifer’s natural glow by mixing L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Sun Beige ($10.95) with LaMer The Reparative Body Lotion ($180) to create a dewy but even and  smooth canvas
  • CHEEKS – Mary dabbed L’Oreal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Cherubic on her cheeks for a subtle flush of color ($12.95)
  • EYESHADOW – Mary used two shadows to achieve Jennifer’s sultry eye: L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24H Eye Shadow in Eternal Black and Iced Latte ($7.95 each)
  • EYELINER – Mary created a winged cat eye with L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown ($8.95)
  • MASCARA – Mary completed the high drama effect of the eye with two coats of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Carbon Black ($8.95)

Get The Look: Kristen Wiig and Tarte

Celebrity makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir created Kristen Wiig’s look for the Oscars using tarte products.

“Kristen wore a gorgeous princess dress, but it still had a bit of an edge to it, so I wanted to keep her look strong but still soft and pretty,” said Thorisdottir. Here are step-by-step instructions:

 Ian Wilson/WENN.com

* To begin Heba used tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 15, with tarte’s new airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush.

* For dewy, sun-kissed cheeks, she applied tarte’s maracuja blush & glow brightening luminizer and cheek tint in sunlight along the apples of her cheeks, followed by a light dusting of tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in buff. The combination gave Kristen’s skin the perfect luminous finish.

* Heba wanted to play up Kristen’s blue eyes with a mixture of bronze and gold shadows. She started by covering her lids with a soft wash of shimmering golden peach from tarte’s neutralEYES eye shadow palette volume II.

*To add further definition, she applied tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in shimmering bronze along her lashlines and into her creases. Then she layered tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in slate in the center of her lids to reflect light.

*Then she lined her eyes with multiplEYE™ clinically-proven lash enhancing liquid liner, drawing outward for a mini cat-eye.

* She finished with two coats of tarte’s gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara.

* To keep her look soft, Heba filled in her lips with tarte’s LipSurgence™ matte lip tint in exposed, then dabbed tarte’s maracuja divine shine lip gloss in glisten in the center of her lips for a touch of shine.

*To create a soft glow, Heba dusted tarte’s new Amazon bronze body bronzer along her décolletage, shoulders and down her arms. (It’s out in April!)

REVIEW: Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty

For some odd reason, while the rest of us age, Cindy Crawford miraculously continues to look like she walked right out of that 90s Pepsi ad. Well, at least her skin does. Now, she’s divulging her secret to turning back the clock with Meaningful Beauty®, a comprehensive skincare collection that promises to hydrate, protect, and firm.

As much as I wanted to dive right in to her new 5-Piece Advanced System, this Celebutante Sister is a bit backed up in the skincare department. (I like to try things for at least two weeks.) However, I had the perfect beauty junkie in mind. She’s in her mid-40s, and was on the hunt for a wrinkle blasting regimen. Here’s what she had to say:

When I was asked to try the Meaningful Beauty 5-Piece Advanced System, I thought, ‘Heck, if Cindy Crawford is behind this, it’s worth a shot!” Who wouldn’t want an anti-aging line with Cindy Crawford espousing the benefits?

When I received the kit, I was impressed at what was inside: a cleanser, eye cream, a serum that comes in a unique, see-through bottle, a day cream (with SPF, of course), a neck/decolletage cream, and a bonus set of glycolic treatment pads.

The first thing I noticed, right off the bat, was that all of the products ‘felt’ high end. They’re thick, and there’s no heavy perfume-y scent. (So far, so good!) But if they don’t soften lines or help diminish dark circles, who cares…right, ladies?

I used the entire kit for 3 weeks. The serum and day cream were comparative to other high quality products that I’ve tried. However, as anyone over forty knows, it’s the eye and neck creams that warrant special attention. I fell in love with the thick, neck cream. It seemed to stay in place all day. My neck actually felt more ‘dewy’ and supple. Did the lines actually go away? I don’t really know, but you definitely don’t notice them as much, and my neck feels a lot better. I wasn’t great about putting it on my decolletage, but I’m hooked on the cream, so I’m about to start bathing in it.

In terms of the eye cream, I actually think my dark circles are a tad lighter, and my crow’s feet slightly diminished. Maybe part of the reason is that the cream allows my makeup to stay put and not settle into the lines. Either way, my eyes look better!

All in all, if you’re looking for an anti-aging regimen, and you’re wondering if Cindy is just hyping the product, I have to say NO. The eye and neck creams can really make  a visible difference in how your skin looks and feels!

The Meaningful Beauty® 5-piece New Advanced System costs $39.95 plus s/h for 30-day supply, or $119.85 with free shipping for 90-day supply. It is available by catalog, online atMeaningfulBeauty.com, or by calling 1-877-383-1212.
