Get The Look: Jennifer Lopez and L’Oreal Paris

Inspirational Quote: “The look I created for Jennifer was inspired by the 60′s. I wanted a gorgeous hairstyle that defined the graceful refined sophistication of that time to complement Jennifer’s beautiful dress.”
Step by Step How-To:
- First, Lorenzo sprayed L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray at the roots of Jennifer’s clean, damp hair to add extra volume before blow-drying it with a round medium-sized boar bristle brush.
- After Jennifer’s hair was completely dry, Lorenzo distributed a dime-sized amount of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Strong Hold Defining Gel evenly throughout her hair.
- Next, he pulled her hair into a high ponytail, securing it with a metal-free elastic rubber band.
- From there, Lorenzo split the ponytail into four different sections and teased each one. Once all four pieces were teased, he sprayed her hair with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray.
- Next, Lorenzo took one of the four sections and looped the piece into the ponytail, securing it into place with bobby pins. He followed this step with the three other sections of hair – pinning each one in different directions (front, back and side to side) to create a complete bun.
- To ensure there were no loose hairs or flyways and to maintain a sleek look, he added a bit of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth & Shine Serum.
- Lastly, to finish off this effortless yet elegant style, he used L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray lightly around all the hair.

Get The Look: Kelly Ripa and Oscar Blandi

Celebrity stylist Oscar Blandi created Kelly Ripa’s chic, classic chignon at last night at the 84th Academy Awards. To recreate the look at home Oscar recommends the following:
Step 1: Creating a strong base is imperative for a style to hold. Blow-dry the hair using a round brush and Oscar Blandi Hair Lift, $28 at Ulta.com.
Step 2: Part the hair in the center of the head and pull it into a ponytail about 2 inches above the nape of the neck.
Step 3: Separate the ponytail into top and bottom sections. Tuck the top layer into a half moon shape like you’re going around an invisible roller and then secure with pins around the base. Repeat the step with the bottom section until it creates a full circle.
Step 4: For added shine and hold, secure the look with Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray, $23 at Ulta.com.

Get The Look: Shailene Woodley’s Glam Chignon
INSPIRATION: To compliment her Valentino Couture gown, stylist Campbell McAuley for MATRIX wanted to give Shailene a simple, glamorous hairstyle that would really pop. The high neckline and pattern of the fabric inspired a 70’s style textured chignon with a Moroccan twist. The wrapped pieces of the chignon were intended to mirror the textures of the dress.
STEP-BY-STEP:
- Starting with wet hair, applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Wonder Boost Root Lifter to give the base of the hair volume
- Blowdried hair with a round brush to smooth the texture
- Set hair in Velcro rollers for one hour
- Removed rollers, brushed out curls and worked MATRIX Total Results Sleek Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil from roots to end for shine
- Gathered all hair into a textured ponytail at the crown of the head
- Twisted small sections of the ponytail and wrapped them up to the base of the hair to make a round shape
- Half way through, wrapped remaining sections around the round shape to give it a criss-cross texture
- Finished with MATRIX Design Pulse Hard Lock Hairspray to hold the style in place

2012 Golden Globes: Emma Stone’s Edgy, Effortless Hair

To complement Emma Stone’s striking Lanvin gown, stylist Mara Roszak wanted Emma’s hair to emulate that same edgy and effortless style. Staying away from anything too romantic, the rougher texture was key in achieving the goal of the style – a strong feel while remaining feminine.
- Starting with wet hair, Roszak applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer
- Rough dried hair to extenuate natural texture
- Used a 1” barrel curling iron to touch up natural wave
- Took a dab of MATRIX Total Results Curl Contouring Lotion to tame any extra frizz throughout the hair and give it a bit more definition
- Pulled hair back loosely letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out.
- Twist ends of hair and pull back to create a loose, messy chignon in the back, letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out
- Once hair was back and pinned, began dropping the hair into the messy bun shape, pinning and wrapping each piece individually
- To secure the style, used BIOLAGE Freeze Fix Hair Spray

2012 Golden Globes: Freida Pinto’s Elegant Hair And Makeup

Inspired by Freida’s princess-like Prada dress, hair stylist Giannandrea Marongiu wanted to keep Freida Pinto’s hair easy and simple so that the overall look was elegant, timeless and, of course, chic. Giannandrea created a soft twist with the top and sides of Freida’s hair while giving the crown that extra oomph for volume. Cascading waves fell softly down her back to maintain the feel of effortless beauty. Here’s how you can re-create the look:
- Giannandrea began with wet hair and applied a generous amount of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Boosting Mousse before using a hairdryer to blow it dry using only his fingers to give hair texture
- He then applied L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse to just the crown area to create voluminous lift
- Using a round brush, he blasted hair – separated in sections – with high heat and then temporarily set each section with Velcro rollers
- After spraying each section with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray – Extra Strong Hold Unscented for a soft hold, he let the hair sit while Freida got her makeup done
- After her makeup was applied, he took out the rollers and brushed through the curls to create soft, flowing waves down her back
- He then back combed the crown for added lift and took the top portion of the hair with a few pieces from each side and created a very subtle, soft twist that flowed into the length of the hair
- To finish the look, he used a touch of the L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème to smooth out the length and sides to give the style an overall clean feel
