Paris Hilton’s Gas Station Pit Stop

Paris Hilton was spotted at a gas station in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon.

The heiress must be feeling much safer these days! The man who tried to break into her home 2 years ago was just sentenced to 2 years in state prison.

At the time, Hilton’s (now ex) boyfriend Cy Waits pulled a gun on the intruder before he got inside.

REVIEW: Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer

I love beauty products just as much as the next gal. (OK. OK. I’m obsessed with them.) I’ve been known to spend hours swiping on colorful shadows, slathering on lotions and potions, and playing around with my hair. But now that summer is here, I want to get in and out of the bathroom quickly so I can spend more time in the sun! One way I like to pare down my routine is with tinted moisturizer, preferably one with SPF. My new fave is Urban Decay’s Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer With SPF 20. Perfect for creating an easy-breezy, natural look, it almost looks like mousse when you squeeze it out of the purple tube.

I went for Halo, the lightest shade offered. It was a perfect match. (Score!) One thing I noticed is that the product absorbs quickly. My skin is on the dry side, so I found that the best way to apply is with a drop of my daily moisturizer mixed in. I’m not a huge fan of foundation, so having to take this extra step didn’t really bother me.

Urban Defense definitely evened things out, especially the redness on my cheeks, and didn’t make my face look greasy or oily. Also, because it is paraben and fragrance free, it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. During the day I smoothed on one layer, added my fave YSL cream blush, and swiped on a few coats of mascara. At night, I amped things up with a smoky eye, NARS Orgasm blush, and a dusting of translucent powder. Urban Defense is a new summer staple! You can find it for $30 on urbandecay.com. There are four shades available.

Jada Pinkett Smith Covers REDBOOK Magazine

Jada Pinkett Smith graces REDBOOK‘s August cover, and inside the issue the actress gets honest and emotional about motherhood, raising a family of superstars, her “excruciating choices,” and her many blessings.

See below for some highlights from her interview!

On putting family first:

“I had to make choices. Believe me, I would still be on the road with my band, Wicked Wisdom, and making as many movies as I can a year, and doing all sorts of other things if I didn’t have the responsibility of a family. But I have children with their own talents and dreams, and I know I have to be standing next to them for that journey.”

On giving up on her rockstar dreams:

“It was excruciating, completely excruciating. When Jaden was auditioning for The Pursuit of Happyness, my band had just gotten an offer to open for Guns N’ Roses in Europe. For me, that was unbelievable. But the choice was: I could be a rock star, or I could be on the set with my son to make sure he was healthy and happy. We all know how that story ended!”

On raising her kids in Hollywood:

“Let me tell you what I fear most: Them growing up like I did, in a house with drugs in a war zone, where if I walked out my door I could be shot. Hollywood ain’t nothing compared to that! Growing up in the streets of Baltimore, or the streets of Philly where Will grew up — I’d rather have my kids here. It still makes me nervous that they’re part of something that isn’t totally real, but it’s up to Will and me to teach them what’s real and what’s not.”

This issue hits newsstands on July 12th.
